Roope is a doctoral candidate at the Environmental Policy Research Group at the University of Helsinki. His research draws on embodied cognition, sustainable design, ecological psychology, affordance theory, the philosophy of science, systems theory, and more.
He’s written two articles for TSV, including one on the art and phenomenology of mushroom foraging and another on the ecology of design. In episode five of the TSV podcast, I also sat down with Roope to talk about James Gibson, predictive processing, niche construction, evolution, design, decentralization, the Anthropocene, and more. Check out Roope’s work, and be sure to share it widely on social media.
